Is it just the Customer Services number you phone to cancel your account
or do NTL have a specific number for cancellations?

The following is my copy of the answers to the same question that have been
posted here (or hereabouts) many times in the past.

"Cancel ntlworld
I can confirm what the rest have said (thanks) in order to cancel your
account with ntl you need to contact 0845 650 1234 and I would then seek
advice from our billing department who will be best placed to advise you of
the time to cancel your direct debit so that there are no outstanding
charges left on your account after disconnection.

I have a BT line with the £15 a month deal and the dial-up box thingy. I
now want to cancel (going to ADSL with someone else) but I cannot find
anything on the NTL web-site on how to stop your account.

You can cancel your account by calling NTLFreedom customer services on
0870 445 0 445."

---------------

So it seems there are two numbers, or possibly more, or less ........... :)

If you're going to ADSL with NTL, you don't need to cancel, it all happens
synchronously. I know, I recently did it. :)

Seems to be good ATM .. I paid for 512 (Freedom, BT line) service, but just
yesterday I started getting 1 meg and above .. It seems that the BT speed
increases are being passed on, but probably or possibly, depends on how good
the exchange is. :)

The 0845 number wasn't recognised however I found an alternative 0808
number which did the trick.

I thought they might have offered half price or similar for a couple of
months as I was cancelling due to a service problem that has been ongoing
for over six months but they didn't. Just asked why I was cancelling and
that was that.
